Sculptural Mobiles from Perennial Grass and Brush Piles

Join us in welcoming the energy of spring and renewal! Inspired by Balkan traditions, we'll create mobiles using young perennial grass stems, dried flowers, and handspun cordage. As you assemble your mobile, you'll explore how humble natural materials can be shaped into airy, wind-dancing sculptures that invite new beginnings, movement, and beauty into your home. NYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation's most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb's support, community gardens are centers of environmental justice, ensuring that our city is fairer, safer, and greener for all. GreenThumb's events are free and open to the public.
